A publication calling itself “The Voice” claims it will reveal the names and addresses of pedophiles, drug dealers, prostitutes, corrupt council officers and councillors, kerb crawlers etc., in a newsletter to be published and delivered across Stoke-on-Trent on September 8 2012.
“The Voice” has announced this action in a leaflet already delivered to hundreds of homes in the north of the city last week, that residents have past on the PotteriesEYE with some concern. There is no clue as to who has written the leaflet.
The leaflets don’t contain any names but do include street names where they claim a “pedophile” lives and another where a “rapist” lives.
PotteriesEYE contacted both the City Council and the Police, passing on a copy of the leaflet. Both declined to comment on the contents, whilst the police asked us not to publish the leaflet which we have not.
The leaflet says it’s first “name and shame” list will be published on “8 9 12″.
It says:
The next few weeks should be interesting.
For in this news letter we will name , drug dealers, where they live, and where they meet their buyers. We will name benefit cheats. The local prostitutes, where they live and some of their punters. The paedophile who lives in **************************. The rapist that lives in ******************* and the person who is covering up for him. Houses where illegals live in *********************. Councillors who have let the local people down by not backing them against big local companies thus making this the most polluted area of Staffordshire.
Planning staff that bend the rules to make sure plans get passed. Shops that sell alcohol in the early hours to yobbos because they are afraid not too. The local store that is rat infested, cock roaches running all over the goods, the house next door that they keep bread and other food stuff in also has rats. Guess what? the health inspector has been and does nothing about it, We wonder why………………………….
It goes on and on, then says:
………Once again they will try and stop us from printing these news letters when thery do some one else will carry on where we have left off…………
It concludes with:
………..The Voice will be heard.
A senior local community member, who did not wish to be named says:
Some are skeptical that they will publish on the 8 September, but they have gone to the trouble of printing this first leaflet and deliver it to hundreds of homes.
The repercussions for communities could be huge.
What if someone is wrongly named? What if people decide to take things into their own hands? The mind boggles!

A person is innocent until proven guilty … whilst I welcome naming corrupt officials, there has to be proof to back it up … without it, it’s quite dangerous rhetoric … I hope the police follow up any malicious content with speed and efficiency.

I don’t agrred with the kind of “outing” people this “Voice” is threatening.
It leads to the kind of mob rule and vigilante justice that will undermine all our freedom, and more tragically, mistakes that innocent people will suffer in error.
