The recent application to place a mast at the junction of Gravelly Bank with Sandon Road has been turned, I was informed last week.
Along with a number of local residents, I had written to the Council objecting to this proposal on the basis of local amenity, particularly highlighting that Sandon Road already suffers with speeding and accidents, without the further distraction of a large mast on the roadside.
The application has been turned down on the basis that:
“its design, height and siting, fails to respect its wider setting and as such its appearance within the street scene would adversely affect visual amenity.”
