New Civic Centre borrowing to rise as buildings “fire sale” cut by a 1/3 by council

Sixteen of the 40 buildings Stoke-on-Trent City Council was proposing to sell to pay for the New Civic Centre in Hanley are now to be retained PotteriesEYE has learned.
Buildings/ land saved from what opposition councillors dubbed “a fire sale” include Hanley Park, housing offices and Fenton Manor Sports and Leisure Facility.
